Larson Gallery will be overflowing with seasonal cheer and activities this month.

Coming right up on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, Larson Gallery is hosting its annual children’s art exhibition alongside the festive “Jingle and Mingle Holiday Market.” An art exhibition curated by Larson Gallery opens on Dec. 17 and the popular free event for seniors, Senior Mornings, is scheduled for Dec. 18.

Kids’ Art Show: Creativity on Display

This year’s “Kids React!” show features original artwork inspired by three creative prompts: “Happiness and What it Means to Me,” “A Composition Starting With Three Shapes” and “The Imaginary City.” Over 300 works were entered this year from kids across our valley.

The exhibition will be on display in Gallery A from Dec. 13-20. The opening reception is Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., and will feature free craft activities for kids, visits with Santa and light refreshments.

This exhibition is sponsored in memory of Shawn Downey, who was a friend of the gallery and a fan of the arts.

Jingle & Mingle Holiday Market

In the spirit of collaboration, the Larson Gallery and Yakima Valley Vintners Tasting Room are hosting their first “Jingle and Mingle” Holiday Market on Saturday from noon until 4 p.m. Larson’s Gallery B will have local vendors selling artisanal food and gift items – perfect for finding special holiday gifts.

Located in the back section of the gallery, the holiday market features unique, handmade items from local artists and vendors. Visitors can also step into the tasting room to enjoy special holiday-themed items on their menu.

Art Exhibition at Hotel Maison

An art exhibition curated by Larson Gallery opens at Hotel Maison, 321 E. Yakima Ave., in downtown Yakima on Dec. 17. Featured are local artists Meldra Driscoll, Geri Ham and Mary Jepsen. The opening will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the restored Masonic Temple on the top floor of the hotel.

The featured artists and other exhibiting artists will have works for sale exclusively at the opening. Stop by and see the new art adorning the hotel lobby, and enjoy the exquisitely restored historic architecture of Hotel Maison’s unique Masonic Temple room. This room is an event space that is not usually open to the public, so this art opening is a great chance to see it.

Senior Mornings

From 10 a.m. until noon on Dec. 18, artist Geri Ham will lead a free “Senior Morning” watercolor activity for seniors at Larson Gallery. Registration is not required. Supplies and space are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Senior Mornings is a program that Larson Gallery began this fall with a grant from the Fresh Hop Festival and continues on the third Thursday of every month. Senior mornings feature a fun, low-pressure art making activity for anyone 65 years or older, led by a local artist. Coffee and donuts are provided.

More information about these and other events is available on Larson Gallery’s social media sites and larsongallery.org.
