Tetra Tech acquires industrial automation tech integrator

Tetra Tech has acquired a systems integration and engineering services company that predominantly works in energy, manufacturing and other highly-regulated sectors.

Convergence Controls & Engineering will become a part of Tetra Tech’s government services segment as the latter looks to further build out synergies between its federal and infrastructure businesses. Terms of the transaction announced Thursday were not disclosed.

Littleton, Colorado-headquartered Convergence designs, programs and supports industrial automation systems that help control the consumption and usage of a building’s resources such as energy.

Convergence also touts its core focus areas as including customized digital controls and software solutions, data analytics, cloud data integration, and cybersecurity applications.

“The addition of Convergence further expands our talented team of high-end engineers, software developers, and digital transformation consultants who serve our water and energy clients,” Tetra Tech’s chief executive Dan Batrack said in a release.

The transaction involving Convergence takes place approximately three months after Tetra Tech completed its purchase of LS Technologies, a 500 employee-outfit whose major government client is the Federal Aviation Administration.And in January 2023, the company acquired Amyx to add application modernization, cybersecurity, systems engineering, financial management, and program management capabilities.
